She’s your butterfly, sugar baby. No, Crazy Town didn’t reunite to sing “Butterfly,” their classic ode to fierce nipple piercings and winged insects. Butterflies are making a musical comeback, though, in the form of Cara Delevingne. The star of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets dropped the official video for her debut song, “I Feel Everything,” (same, girl) and it’s loaded with visuals that include a full body purple suit made of CGI butterflies.
The track—the first solo release ever for the actress, author, and model—shows up on the Valeriansoundtrack and is actually a low-key, jazzy bop that we’ve shamelessly added to our Spotify rotation. It’s not the first time she’s stepped up to the mic, appearing in a 2014 Chanel visual with Pharrell called “CC The World,” but this is her first real foray into the industry and she’s brought heavy hitters to the music video.
Along with her purple butterflies, the actress also appears in a number of wigs straight out of Party City as the video intersperses with scenes from the film. The whole video is directed by Valerian’sown director, Luc Besson, and is the kind of visual powerhouse you won’t truly appreciate for another decade until you’re drunk at a party and play the video to reminisce about Cara’s underrated music debut—see also: Lindsay Lohan’s 2000s music career.
Check out the video, below and, if butterflies aren’t your thing but Cara is, she’s also publishing her debut novel Mirror Mirror soon.
