There’s More Good In the World Than Bad

Watch the queer comedian's optimistic Las Vegas tribute.

Fifty-nine people were killed and more than 500 injured in Sunday’s Las Vegas massacre, making it the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history. While such devastation leaves little hope, especially after an endless stream of blows, queer comedian Ellen DeGeneres still believes “there’s more good in the world than bad.”

During today’s episode of Ellen, which she taped Monday just hours after Vegas’ news broke, the queer comedian revisited some of those good people who’ve made appearances on her show over the past 15 seasons. DeGeneres’ inspirations include a young boy who developed an app for those with disabilities and a bus driver who rescued 20 kids from her vehicle engulfed in flames.

“The world is full of amazing people,” she said—teary eyed—as the powerful montage finished. “Good will always win. Love will always win.” Watch DeGerenes’ optimistic tribute and support the official Las Vegas Victims’ Fund.
